Trader Joe's Soup Dumplings Review - Is It Worth It? 100% YES

Trader Joe's Soup Dumplings Review - Is It Worth It? 100% YES

Yes, 100% yes these are worth it. I can’t say it loud enough, and if this is all you read from this, know that you should head to the nearest Trader Joe’s location and do yourself a favor by buying these #NotSponsored. These soup dumplings are an absolute dark horse if you're searching for frozen dumplings to take home. Trader Joe's and Dumplings? I had never considered this would be a good place to look for my favorite comfort food. They are delicious, affordable, and I will gladly come back to get more.

At the time of writing this, you can swipe the Steamed Chicken Soup Dumplings or the Steamed Pork & Ginger Dumplings for $3.49 (That price will most likely vary nationwide - I am referring to price in VA). Each box contains 6 soup dumplings and if you're ever in a rush, they could be microwaved, although I strongly believe a traditional steam is best. For a frozen soup dumpling, I give these a 4.5 out of 5!

Now I'm no prestigious food critique (as you can probably tell by my poor grammar), but do you enjoy many frozen foods or find yourself comparing them to fresh cooked meals? I think a lot of us would agree that frozen foods can definitely be pretty good but aren't often on par with a sit down experience. These really hit home for me and I really enjoyed them through and through.

I definitely want to encourage people to go out and try these and when you do steam the darn soup dumplings. You could microwave but I steamed them and paired with my #1 dumpling sauce choice, Fly by Jing

Honorable MentionTrader Joe’s Philly Cheesesteak Bao Buns @ $2.99

This was a fun one I hadn't intended on ever exploring - who knew you could combine Philly Cheese Steak with Bao Buns! I liked it, although I can absolutely see it being an acquired taste. I am going to restrain myself from rating these, but 4 bao buns that are generously stuffed for $2.99... I think it's a fair price and worth exploring. I don't believe I'd hunt these down if there was ever a drop in supply and these were discontinued but I am happy it caught my eye and that I tried them.

Next Visit? Yes! There will be a next visit to grab those soup dumplings again and I think I was so distracted by my excitement for the dumplings (and bao buns) that I hadn't explored to see if there were more hidden gems like those. Do you have any suggestions? Help me and help others with a comment and let us know what else is at Trader Joe's that a dumpling lover and Asian-Cuisine enthusiast like myself may want to try!
